John 17: 15 -23

15"My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth. 18As you sent Me into the world, I have sent them into the world. 19For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified. 20My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message, 21that all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in Me and I am in You. May they also be in Us so that the world may believe that You have sent Me. 22I have given them the glory that You gave Me, that they may be one as We are one: 23I in them and You in Me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that You sent Me and have loved them even as You have loved Me."

Acts 4: 24 -26

24When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God.

"Sovereign Lord," they said, "You made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and every thing in them. 25You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of Your servant, our father David:

"'Why do the nations rage

and the peoples plot in vain?

26The kings of the earth take their stand

and the rulers gather together

against the Lord

and against his Anointed One.'

Acts 6: 4

We...will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.

Acts 14: 23

(Paraphrased)

With prayer and fasting, commit yourself to the Lord, in whom you must place your trust.

I Timothy 2: 8

I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer,

without anger or disputing.

James 5:13 -16

13Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. 14Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. 16Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Psalm 122: 6,7

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels."

Isaiah 45: 18 -25

18For this is what the Lord says--

He who created the heavens,

He is God;

He who fashioned and made the earth,

He founded it;

he did not create it to be empty,

but formed it to be inhabited--

He says:

"I am the Lord,

and there is no other.

19I have not spoken in secret,

from somewhere in a land of darkness;

I have not said to Jacob's descendants,

'Seek me in vain.'

I, the Lord, speak the truth;

I declare what is right.

20"Gather together and come;

assemble, you fugitives from the nations.

Ignorant are those who carry

about idols of wood,

and pray to gods that cannot save.

21Declare what is to be, present it--

let them take counsel together.

Who foretold this long ago,

who declared it from the distant past?

Was it not I, the Lord?

And there is no God apart from Me,

a righteous God and a Savior;

there is none but Me.

22Turn to Me and be saved,

all you ends of the earth;

for I am God, and there is no other.

23By Myself I have sworn,

My mouth has uttered in all integrity

a word that will not be revoked:

Before Me every knee will bow;

by Me every tongue will swear.

24They will say of Me,

"In the Lord alone

Are righteousness and strength.' "

All who have raged against Him

will come to Him and be put to shame.

25But in the Lord all the descendants of Israel

will be found righteous and will exult
